Showcase: 2020 Redesign for Hill Country Church

Before

After

Hello there!

I was recently contracted by my client, Hill Country Church, to completely redesign their website and bring in a more modern look. Their last redesign was from 2015 (which I also designed) and while effective, it was beginning to show its age and needed a refresh.

Goals

I suggested the removal of the homepage slider, which had been a feature of the website for the past decade. Studies have also shown that less than 1% of visitors actually click on a slider, as well as being a drag on site performance. There’s a great article with more points here.

Instead, I suggested a static homepage that highlights the most critical information above the fold (the part of the site that shows up first before you start scrolling) such as their service times, address, links to online streaming, and their about page.

I really enjoyed working on this project, and would love to help you as well! Feel free to shoot me an email if you or someone you know needs a website.
